Walls of Clay has been in downtown McKinney since 2001 and has worked with hundreds of groups over the years. We are not a franchise but rather family owned business and can work with your group to tailor a field trip to fit most needs.

What can we do at Walls of Clay?
We have a variety of affordable pottery projects starting at $12 + tax per painter.
What is the cost per child?
Pricing is dependent upon the project you choose. Prices do not include sales tax. If your organization is tax-exempt, we must have a tax-exempt form on file before the end of your event or you will be charged sales tax with no refunds.
Pottery: Mug 10oz ~ $12 per painter
A great blank “canvas” to paint freestyle or you can opt for an instructive led design such as handprints & finger painting (super fun) or theme inspired such as our donut mugs – choose your “flavor”. Mugs can be used for beverages, planter or pencil/pen holder. All pieces are food safe after they are kiln-fired – so fun AND functional.
Pottery: Ice Cream Bowl ~ $12 per painter
Bubbles are always fun and used to create this cool design on an ice cream bowl. Painters can pick their “flavor”; strawberry, mint chocolate chip or blue ice. Or you can choose our sweet summer watermelon theme. All pieces are food safe after they are kiln-fired – so fun AND functional.
Pottery: Salad Plate ~ $14 per painter
A great blank “canvas” to paint freestyle or you can opt for an instructive led design such as handprints & finger painting (super fun). All pieces are food safe after they are kiln-fired – so fun AND functional.
Pottery: Custom ~ $TBD per painter

What is the minimum number of painters required?
During Normal Studio Hours: Minimum of 8 to receive discounted | field trip pricing.
Before/After Normal Studio Hours: Minimum of 20 to receive discounted | field trip pricing.
Important: Your organization is financially responsible for meeting the minimum number of 8 (during studio hours) or 20 (before/after studio hours) regardless of their attendance. There are no makeups or product sent out after-the-fact. Your staff, however, may elect to paint if that helps you meet the minimum requirement. If you do not meet the minimum requirement during your event, you will be financially responsible for the difference.
How much time is needed to complete the project?
Typically, we need 45 minutes per group. This can vary, depending on age and the particular project.
How many kids can your studio accommodate at a time?
Our studio can comfortably hold 30 kids upfront and 12 -16 additional kids in our party room. If your group exceeds this number, we can schedule multiple trips within the same day. If your group is 12 or less, we can easily fit you in our private party room during studio hours.
Can Walls of Clay come to my location?
Yes! If your group is larger than we can accommodate and you need to have field trip completed in a single session OR we do not have your desired date available, we can arrange to send the Walls of Clay staff along with project materials to YOUR location. Minimum requirements will apply.
When is the studio available for field trips?
Availability is dependent upon a few factors. The most important factor is the size of your group.
- Groups of 6 – 12 painters can be scheduled anytime during studio hours.
- Regular Studio Hours: Thursday & Friday 12 – 6, Saturday 10 – 6, and Sunday 12 – 6.
- For larger groups (12+), we need to plan your field trip during non-studio hours.
- Non-Studio Hours (during the school year): Monday – Wednesday all day, Thursday – Friday 9 – 10
- Non-Studio Hours (during the summer): Monday all day, Tuesday – Friday 9 – 10
When will our projects be ready?
All of our projects are kiln-fired and will be ready in 7 – 14 days, depending on time of year.
What is required to reserve a date and time?
A non-refundable deposit per date is required, we cannot hold a date without a deposit. PLEASE NOTE: All deposits WILL BE APPLIED TOWARDS YOUR FINAL BALANCE, THE DAY OF THE EVENT, PROVIDING THE MINIMUM NUMBER IN ATTENDANCE IS MET. Deposits are non-refundable. However, if you are unable to attend the date reserved and notify us at least 72 hours in advance, we will gladly work with you to reschedule one time with no penalty. No shows will not be refunded or credited.
How much is the non-refundable deposit per date?
$ 50; groups up to 12
$150; groups 13 – 50
$200; groups 50 – 75
$250; groups 76 – 150
When is the balance due and how do I pay the final balance?
The balance is due at the end of your event when we tally up the total number of kids in attendance. We accept cash and all major credit cards. Checks are NOT accepted for final payment.
