Walls of Clay has been in downtown McKinney for  over 16 years and have worked with hundreds of groups over the years.  We are not a franchise but rather family owned business and can work with your group to tailor a field trip to fit most needs.  Please find below some information to help you in making your decision.   And if you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us at 972.547.4472 and ask for Jenn (owner).  If you would like pictures of completed projects, please ask.

What can we do at Walls of Clay?

We have a variety of pottery projects and glass fusing.

What is the cost?

Pricing is dependent upon the project you choose and how many kids attend in a single session, or in the case of larger groups, a single day. Pricing is below and does not include sales tax.

How much time is needed to complete the project?

Typically, we need 45 minutes per group.  This can vary, depending on age and the particular project.

How many kids can you accommodate at a time?

Our studio can comfortably hold 26 kids up front and 12 additional kids in our party room.  If your group exceeds this number, we can schedule multiple trips within the same day.  If your group is 12 or less, we can easily fit you in our private party room.

Can you come to my location?

Yes!  If your group is larger than we can accommodate and you need to have field trip completed in a single session OR we do not have your desired date available, we can arrange to send the Walls of Clay staff along with project materials to YOUR location.

When is your studio available for our field trip?

Availability is dependent upon a few factors. The most important factor is the size of your group. For larger groups (12+), we need to plan your field trip during non-studio hours. This is typically between 9:00am – 11:00am. During the summer, our studio is open 7 days a week, however, with advance notice and a deposit, we can schedule your field trip on a Monday and open the studio late.

For groups 12 or smaller, we can accommodate you in our party room during studio hours, so you can schedule whenever it is most convenient for you.

When will our projects be ready?

It depends on the size of your group.  Pottery projects (kiln fired) have a turnaround of 7 – 10 days.  Glass fusing typically runs about 14 days.  Canvas and other mediums have a turnaround time of 24 – 48 hours.

What is required to reserve a date and time?

A non-refundable deposit per date is required, we cannot hold a date without a deposit.  PLEASE NOTE:  All deposits WILL BE APPLIED TOWARDS YOUR FINAL BALANCE, THE DAY OF THE EVENT.  Deposits are non-refundable.  However, if you are unable to attend the date reserved and notify us at least 72 hours in advance, we will gladly work with you to reschedule one time with no penalty.  No shows will not be refunded or credited.

How much is the non-refundable deposit per date scheduled (deposits will be applied towards the final balance)?

$ 50; groups up to 12

$100; groups 13 – 50

$200; groups 50 – 75

$250; groups 76 – 150

When and how do I pay the balance?

The balance is due at the end of your event, when we tally up the total number of kids in attendance. Please note that are pricing is tiered for field trips, so if you end up with more or less than expected, this will be reflected in the final price per child. If your organization is tax exempt, we must have a tax exempt form on file before the end of your event or you will be charged sales tax. We accept cash and all major credit cards. Checks are NOT accepted for final payment.
